    1 indeed it was lack of 10.12.6 for xcode 9, 10.12.0 was not enough.
     1indeed it was lack of 10.12.6 for xcode 9, 10.12.0 was not enough. xcode9 still was able to be installed because of a script-unxip type of installation, but couldn't be launched.
