gcc8 fails to build (macOS 10.15 Catalina) — at Version 2

Just tried and failed to build gcc8 on macOS Catalina. When first trying to install gcc8, I ran into an issue with libunwind-headers, so I followed some advice here and uninstalled.the component via 

sudo port uninstall libunwind-headers

Then the installation proceeded beyond the first failure, but did not complete. Log is attached

this will no doubt be a duplicate of 59224.

No solution at present, see details other ticket. Please use gcc9 instead, which works.
