Warning: reinplace s|__MACPORTS_canonical_host_type__|x86_64-apple-darwin17.x.x|g didn't change anything in /path/to/octave-5.2.0/configure
It looks like the value of x86_64-apple-darwin19.x.x got hardcoded in the patchfile. That should be replaced with the __MACPORTS_canonical_host_type__ placeholder.
If this value has some significance to the build, might have to increase the revision too.
