    33Unless I am missing something, I do not see how that would help an old Macports installation like mine where I was able to install the latest version of curl using Macports.

    77You mentioned that you "reverted that commit locally".  Is there an easy way to do that with Macports.  Unlike other package managers, I do not see an easy way to hold back a package from upgrading.  So I typically have to wait until packages get fixed.
