libdeflate fails (while installing aseprite dependencies)

Tried today on M1 macbook pro. I installed macports today and xcode too, so latest version. All dependencies for aesprite installed fine until I got to libdeflate. I tried "sudo port install libdeflate" alone and got following error:

% sudo port install libdeflate
