Portfile Sync via Daily Tarball

• Audience: Users who can't use rsync or svn
• Requires: MacPorts

Introduction

Some networks and proxies prevent or break the use of rsync, http, or svn. For people on these networks, getting an updated port tree can be difficult. The rsync server makes a tarball daily and stores it on www.macports.org.

Installation

Step 1: Download Tarball

Download the tarball from ​ports.tar.gz
