libsdl_image fails to build universal on SL

Description
Building libsdl_image 1.2.8 on Snow Leopard fails with "ranlib: archive member: .libs/libSDL_image.a(libSDLmain.a) fat file for cputype (7) cpusubtype (3) is not an object file (bad magic number)" Seems to be some problem with the latest libsdl port. Full output of port -v install libsdl_image attached

Same issue on Leopard version 10.5.8 with macports version 1.8.1.

Installing older version number 1.2.7 seems to work fine.
