This port has problems. I tried 1.45 of the port and it runs autoinstall and enters cpan routines. Further, dependency p5-cache-simple-timedexpiry doesn't exist.

I submitted p5-cache-simple-timedexpiry in ticket:10741. I am not sure what you mean by "runs autoinstall and enters cpan routines"; the port installed fine for me, but it's possible that my system is tainted by some other perl packages that I installed. If you can show me the error you are getting, I can try to figure out what's different on your system.

There is a 1.45 version of this port available. Sorry, I missed the p5-cache-simple-timedexpiry you also submitted. If all dependencies aren't satisfied aparently cpan autoinstall fires up and it is interactive. But I don't see p5-want in your submitted list if I'm not mistaken.

Also, many have been missing a description field and they have no maintainer field. i've been supplying the description from cpan and a maintainer of nomaintainer@…. Is that what you wanted or did you want to be maintainer?

I'll pass on being the maintainer; I needed all of these because they are dependencies of another package I need, but now that it's installed, I am not going to put much effort into keeping track of when every one of them is updated on CPAN.

Sorry about the descriptions; some of the modules I submitted Portfile for don't even have a description on CPAN (just a download link), but I can easily believe I forgot to include the descriptions of some that did have a decent CPAN listing.

I just submitted p5-want in ticket:10834; thanks for catching that.

Ok, just wanted to be sure. I added p5-want. It is still missing:

p5-dbd-sqlite p5-class-accessor

Added those and these are also required, but are not in macports yet.

capitalization DBIx::DBSchema

Because it can't find them in runs thecpan utility and loops forever.
