Is anybody actually working on MacPorts?

Here, I've reported a simple egregious error (apparently, the .delete should be -delete, same on the next line for patch). Obviously, the port maintainer never bother to test the code before commit.

No reply, no update, nothing happens.

Come on! This is an easy 2 line fix!

For months now, folks have been asking for automatic adding the reporter to the CC list. That hasn't happened. Another earlier bug report had a reply with a question, but the responder never bothered to CC me....

Just to address a couple of your points:

  • It's not necessarily that the maintainer didn't test it. Most developers have moved to Tiger and simply don't have a Panther system to test on any more (as you can see, the bug is in 'platform darwin 7').
  • You didn't assign the bug to the maintainer--although that's not too important right now. The maintainer isn't automatically Cc'ed anyway, which brings me to,
  • We know about the Cc stuff. It's a goal to change it. But the server isn't directly under MacPorts' control, so it's not something that can be transparently fixed.

I apologize that this one slipped through the cracks, but the primary problems here are ones which aren't under our direct control (lack of Panther and auto-Cc).

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
