I'm currently evaluating the best place for .jar files - Would that be a good place for sisc's jar-files, too? (whatever the path will be)

Yes, probably, if we want to keep all the java stuff together. sisc doesn't really care where its .jar files are as long as it knows where they are. The portfile will need to be changed to reflect whatever location is deemed best.
