How big are the files? Use

ls -l /opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/texlive_texmf-full
ls -l /opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/texlive_texmf-minimal

May be HTML error pages instead of the right files (if they are only a few KBs in size). If so sudo port clean --all texlive_texmf-minimal texlive_texmf-full then try again.

The distfiles on macports distfiles mirror have the good checksums. The ones on bournemouth.ac.uk and those on openBSD mirrors as well, you probably had a problem unrelated to macports while downloading.
