I don't know if this was intentional, but there is a non-standard library included as part of the ruby core:
ruby/1.8/rss/itunes.rb
I'm glad I found it, but I don't think it's strictly part of the core rss library.

My mistake. It was added as part of 1.8.7 and I was referencing 1.8.6
