I rebuilt it with these configure args and the problem is fixed (go figure out why)

configure.args --with-database=gnudbm --with-jpeg \

--with-tiff --with-xpm --with-png \ --with-toolbars=yes --with-athena=3d \ --with-menubars=lucid --with-scrollbars=athena \ --with-dialogs=athena --with-widgets=athena \ --with-pop

Yves, is this reproducible or have xemacs updates in the last 2 years obsoleted this?
