Possibility of misconfigured PyOpenSSL egg

Reported by: dave@… Owned by: macports-tickets@…

Component: ports Version: 1.7.1

Port: python25

I'm not at all sure this is a macports bug, but this ticket describes a situation where my macports-installed python25 had a pyOpenSSL egg installed in it by something other than macports (possibly by easy_install-2.5?) that was not compatible with the Python build. My hunch is that the pyOpenSSL had binaries compiled against a UCS4 Python, but I don't know for sure. In any case, this possibility is disturbing. If there's anything macports can do to prevent it, please do! I'll also report this to the Python devs.

This doesn't appear to describe a problem with anything we control.
