Reported by: erchache2000.macports@… Owned by: ryandesign (Ryan Schmidt)
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 1.9.1
Keywords: Cc:
Port: mysql5

I install mysql5 and i cant enter with mysql because ask for a password :-S

I rerun daemon with option /opt/local/libexec/mysqld --basedir=/opt/local --datadir=/opt/local/var/db/mysql5 --user=_mysql --log-error=/opt/local/var/db/mysql5/ --pid-file=/opt/local/var/db/mysql5/ --skip-grant-tables

and can enter.

I use UPDATE mysql.user SET Password=PASSWORD('MyNewPass') WHERE User='root'; FLUSH PRIVILEGES;

And dont save password.

How i can solve it? is it a mysql 5 compilation problem?

I reinstall mysql databases with mysql_install_db --user=_mysql and runs.

It's a user problem, is _mysql not mysql.

You can close this issue.

Thanks a lot.
