When trying to upgrade chicken to 4.7.0 on SL 10.6.8, I get some linking problems (see main.log). Something seems to have changed between 4.6.0 (which upgrades fine) and 4.7.0. May I ask on which system you tested the upgrade ?
Also, just for information, you had been suppressed from cc as reporters of tickets receive updates automatically.

I built it here on 10.6.8 (10K549), 64-bit Kernel, gcc-4.2 (XCode 3.2.6). Did not "upgrade" but uninstalled then installed the newer release.

I could got rid of the linking problems, which were due to my system. Committed in r87474.
