mythtv-core.25 on G5 processing failed

Description

I downloaded MacPorts and tried a port install of mythtv-core.25. I had one small hiccup early on and had to run sudo port -f activate perl5 to get past it. After several more hours I got to the build process for mythtv-core.25 itself, which failed. Running OS 10.5.8 on this PPC Dual G5. Running Xcode 3.1.4. The log file is attached.

I believe the following upstream commit broke compilation for PPC machines:

Now, to figure out how to undo/fix/workaround ...
