vxl @1.14.0_4: build failure

I can't install port vxl. It says:

I have tried sudo port clean vxl then sudo port install vxl several times, even with system restart.

Note that vxl is currently outdated; the current version of VXL is 1.17. I've created a ticket at #37564.
