Note. This was a brand new Macports installation after uninstalling an older version. Mac OS X 10.8.2 and Xcode 4.6

Can you please run the following? If it still fails, attach the main.log that should be mentioned. 

sudo port clean gdk-pixbuf2
sudo port install gdk-pixbuf2
