Description
Is there a reason why the default configuration for GDAL contains "--without-grib"? I tried to edit my own local version of the portfile according to http://guide.macports.org/#development.local-repositories but couldn't get it to work. This format is built into GDAL by default and has no external dependencies. I can't think of a downside to enabling it. I would be glad to understand what went wrong with my local repository if anyone would care to engage with me on that offline. Thanks.

There are a lot of things that the GDAL port could enable, but doesn't. I have a local copy of the portfile that has it enabled, but it also has a lot of other extraneous stuff in it, too: https://github.com/cooljeanius/LocalPorts/blob/master/gis/gdal/Portfile
