#40374 closed defect (invalid)

icons appear as unix executable

Reported by: je1975@… Owned by: macports-tickets@…
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.2.0
Keywords: Cc:
Port: samba

Description

Apologies if this is the wrong place to log this issue but all the file icons in my server share (word files, excel, quark) appear as unix executables. Adding the relevant file suffix on the end of the filename (e.g. .docx, .qxd) fixes the file association but there are thousands of files. Is this just a samba issue? Icons look fine when viewed from the server itself OSX 10.8.4, samba 3.615 installed just get the unix icon when viewed from the client end.

Our administrator doesn't administrate your server, so let's not assign this to him.

Are you trying to convey that your samba is misconfigured?
