This patch does not seem proper. You may not depend on "p5-locale-gettext" or any other stub port (all "p5-" ports are stub ports).

Ok, that's probably true. I'm new to the whole perl requirements thing. How do I specify to install the p5-locale-gettext that matches the installed perl5?

You don't; you specify a specific p5-locale-gettext subport, like help2man already does.

In doing so, though, it forces the install of Perl 5.12 even though it is, so far, perl version agnostic. I wouldn't care, but it's an ffmpeg dependency.

Well, I'm trying to avoid having to install perl5.12 when I never use it. I'd prefer it point to perl5.16 or, actually, perl5.18 when we get that setup.
