arpack @3.1.3--no input files for gfortran-mp-4.8

Reported by: gabriel.ben.jamin@… Owned by: mamoll (Mark Moll)
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.2.0
Keywords: Cc:
Port: arpack

Description

Building arpack, as part of an effort to install octave-devel, yields the following:

build gfortran-mp-4.8: fatal error: no input files; unwilling to write output files

See log, attached. Slightly off-topic (sorry), it's been a frustrating process as I already have had to install an old version of SuiteSparse due to #39072.

Which version of OS X do you use? Which variants do you use? I cannot reproduce this on OS X 10.8 and gcc48. I tried the default version of the port and the atlas variant. Both seem to build fine for me.

This is OS X 10.6.8. The default variant builds without trouble; the atlas variant produces this error.

I seem to have found the issue: atlas was already installed +nofortran, for reasons long forgotten, and I had never bothered to check. I installed atlas +gcc48 (build kept stalling with the default +mpclang33); both arpack variants now work. That's embarrassing. Please close this ticket with my apologies.
