gdl @2.30.1_4: no "gdl" executable

I thought I had installed the GDL successfully. 

sudo port installed 

sudo port install gdl

shows

  gdl @2.30.1_4 (active)

--->  Computing dependencies for gdl
--->  Cleaning gdl
--->  Scanning binaries for linking errors: 100.0%
--->  No broken files found

However, when I type gdl at terminal, it shows: 

gdl: command not found

What am I missing?

There doesn’t appear to be an executable. I’m not familiar with this software, so I don’t know whether there should be one.

(In the future, please Cc port maintainers when filing tickets [e.g., port info --maintainers gdl].)

This is a development library, primarily used by anjuta, that provides docking facilties in gtk+. GDL is GNOME Docking Library. Port gdl is for gtk+ version 2, gdl3 for gtk+ version 3. So no executables here. Just a library and include files. If you want something to execute try 

sudo port install anjuta

or 

port gohome anjuta

for more information.

Maybe OP is looking for the gnudatalanguage​ port?
