vowpal_wabbit build fails

Description

I am using an Intel Mac Pro running Mac OS 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion) with XCode 5.1.0. When I try to install vowpal_wabbit the build fails with the attached error log. Apparently the configure script is unable to find the boost library.

I'm not seeing this problem on 10.9. Please attach the config.log file; it may explain why it failed for you.
