Description

Loading mysql56-server fails because the startup item does not exist:

$ sudo port load mysql56-server
Password:
Error: org.macports.load for port mysql56-server returned: Launchd plist /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.macports.mysql56-server.plist was not found
Please see the log file for port mysql56-server for details:
    /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_svn.macports.org_trunk_dports_databases_mysql56/mysql56-server/main.log

This is on Yosemite.

Is the mysql56-server port active?

sudo port activate mysql56-server

Yes.

I have the same problem. It turned out to be because I had installed the port "mysql56" but not "mysql56-server"!

Can't think of any reason other than that why this wouldn't work.
