#4867 closed defect (fixed)

Setting BZIP environment variable causes all port installs to fail.

Description

Binary or source installation of darwinports on a 10.4.2 system. Shell: /bin/zsh. In the .zshenv file, have the following line: 'typeset -x BZIP="-v9"'. Try doing an install of something innocuous: "sudo port install zlib". It will download, check md5s, uncompress, compile, then fail the install and instead print out a huge version string. If you remove the BZIP line from .zshenv, all is in happiness.
