Error: /opt/local/bin/port: port selfupdate failed

I am experiencing some issue with the signature verification for port self update. I tried re-installing, even manually, but no luck. All this time, I could see the following, with debug as shown below

Error: /opt/local/bin/port: port selfupdate failed: Failed to verify signature for MacPorts source'''

Can some one have a look at it, though I have already check other tickets raised similar to this, but none of them help much.
