2016.06.20 (current macports version) to 2016.06.23 have a "signature extraction failed" issue with many youtube videos: https://github.com/rg3/youtube-dl/issues/9863
2016.06.23.1 was released shortly after 2016.06.23 and fixes that issue (and seems to improve the vimeo extractor).

You're welcome! I just happened to see the ticket email come in. Note that it can take up to 30 minutes for the fix to propagate to the rsync server. After that, run sudo port selfupdate and sudo port upgrade outdated and you should be good to go.
Your ticket was fine. I normally check for updates to my ports every few days, but you can definitely file a ticket asking me to update any of my ports. Updates are usually pretty easy so just letting me know that a newer version is available is often enough.
