#53660 closed enhancement (wontfix)
version selection of octave via octave_select

Description
Currently, octave is not handled by octave_select. So, when I install octave, octave-devel-release, octave_select, and switch the default octave version via "port select" command, it overrides /opt/local/bin/octave (used to be pointing to octave-4.2.0). I cannot put back octave-4.2.0 as a default. I appreciate it if the maintainer add the select capability to octave.

I am closing this ticket because currently, neither octave nor octave-devel uses the select framework.
Right now, octave-devel is a drop-in replacement for octave and both are marked as conflicting.
