I got the following error building libgcc after upgrading to High Sierra (and following the migration guide)

Error: Failed to build libgcc: command execution failed
Error: See /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_lang_gcc7/libgcc/main.log for details.

Port: libgcc added

In the future, please use WikiFormatting, fill in the Port field and Cc the port maintainers (port info --maintainers libgcc), if any.

Not sure why this is happening for you, but we have a binary of this port for High Sierra now, so if you sudo port clean libgcc and try again, you should receive the binary and thus avoid this problem.
