mariadb-10.1 @10.1.24 error: cannot use 'try' with exceptions disabled

Installed mariadb-10.1 (no variants) on macOS Sierra using MacPorts, everything worked great.

After upgrading to High Sierra, reinstalling mariadb-10.1 fails:

Did a sudo port clean mariadb-10.1, but problem persists.

+1 Same issue here on High Sierra. Any update available?

Same problem here. Success building mariadb 10.1 from source. Homebrew also works. Freshports works on FreeBSD too. Tried everything with Macports and no luck.

I encountered this issue as well mariadb-10.1-server fails to build on High Sierra 10.13.1. Attached log.
