nextcloud-desktop (1) is the sync client for Nextcloud (2), like owncloud-client for ownCloud. As ownCloud declares incompatibility against Nextcloud since version 2.5.0-rc1 (3), packaging nextcloud-desktop is necessary.

It depends on OpenSSL 1.1 (4), which is still on the way (5).

In 5ed334d4359b5eb778a663151ba1169fcc41ce7c/macports-ports (master):

nextcloud-client: new port, version 2.5.1

Turns out it's actually compatible with OpenSSL 1.0.2

Closes #57115

Some notes:

  • I call it nextcloud-client instead of nextcloud-desktop as that's how most Linux distros call it. BTW, nextcloud-client is its former name.
  • The login window should be resized to display correctly
