According to this page, qt5 can use python 3. Can qt5 ports switch to python 3.6 or 3.7?

I believe the page you refer to is only about PySide2, which is already in the MacPorts repository and has subports for Python 3.6 and 3.7.

The subports of qt5 still seem to require Python 2.7 for some reason or another.
See, for example, the configure file for qtwebengine.

It would be very nice if we could get rid of Python 2 dependencies, but I believe we have to wait for upstream changes for this to be feasible for Qt.
I will close this ticket for now, but please feel free to reopen if I have missed something.
