Description (last modified by ryandesign (Ryan Carsten Schmidt))

Hi there

How can I install an old version of kstars for mac OS X 10.6.8? How do I get to know all released versions? By trial?

I already tried the manual at wiki:howto/InstallingOlderPort suggesting to download the entire repo, checking out the desired commit and rebuild it manually. It just works for versions above 4, which is too new. I tried various combinations with bash (something like port install kstars@1.0.0) , but they either don't work or initialize the installatino of the latest version.

Perhaps, there is a precompiled old version somewhere? At least I didn't found any old version in the internet.

Has anybody an idea?

Might be hard to do. the kde ports live in a community of supporting ports. If we never had a version older than 4, and it looks like we didn't you'd have to specifically write it.

Is there any chance that stellarium-qt4 might work for you? It works beautifully on 10.6.8.

While there are exceptions for requirements needing an older version of a library, we don't generally support old versions of software.
