Description
Netcdf 4.7.2 fixes a Mac-specific problem involving writing to protected memory. One of the symptoms is flaky intermittent behavior in the ncdump command tool: seg fault, HDF error, pointer freed, illegal instruction, etc.
Not all netcdf files are sensitive to this problem. Allegedly this problem was in several code versions before 4.7.2.
