texlive-latex-extra: missing preprint bundle

Description
I have been happily using a pdflatex installation via macports for years, with lots of addons from things like texlive. However, I recently upgraded my ports, and in the process the "preprint" bundle
https://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/preprint
seems to have disappeared. I can look at some of my old log files to see where it used to live:

but it's not there anymore. Does anyone know why it got removed? It's still listed among the contents of texlive:

No I did not. I thought I did, but the upgrade had failed and I hadn’t noticed. Once I fixed that all is well. Thanks!

Can you verify that you have texlive-latex-extra installed?
