xine-ui @0.99.14: does not find jack

This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.14.

jack init_class returning 0x6000015721f0
Cannot connect to server socket err = No such file or directory
Cannot connect to server request channel
Default input and output devices are not the same !!
Cannot open default device in duplex mode, so aggregate default input and default output
JackTemporaryException : now quits...
Jack main caught signal 2

but jack is installed: 

% port -v installed jack

there is an update to xine-lib available, unfortunately not a trivially simple update. That might help.

I see the same after updating xine-lib to 1.2.13. I don't really know anything about xine or jack. Maybe if you file a bug report with the developers they'll have a suggestion.
