smtube fails to display video previews if built with Qt4: SSL issue?

I have confirmed that the issue is reproducible at least up to Catalina (tested on 10.15.7, 10.8.5, 10.6.8, 10.6).
Upstream suggests that the issue is SSL library which Qt4 uses. Could we have a problem here?
- S. Notice that since the port uses Qt5 on Darwin 17+ now, to reproduce the problem on newer systems portfile should be edited to use Qt4 (it is a single-digit change).
