Description

I want to request a port of a machinima software based on the Nintendo 64 game, "Super Mario 64," called Saturn, as well as Saturn Studio.

Machinima is a a "method of making animated film using software similar to that designed for making video and computer games." Here is an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U59WBT3vG-A

Saturn is a machinima software created by sm64rise, based on the port of Super Mario 64 PC (sm64pc). It allows to move the camera anywhere in the game, import custom animations, change the color of objects, and create keyframes, all in the software. This is a video from 2 years ago demonstrating some of the features in Saturn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kA8fXuCpi5A

Saturn Studio, created by Dominicentek, has a more "Source Filmmaker" type of menu, and it works the same way as Saturn, but has features like exporting the video straight from the software and editing the movements.

There is a mac compile of Saturn, but it was from 2 years ago, and does not fully compile as I tested it.

The thing that makes these two software important is the "dynos" folder. It is used to import eye texture and custom models. If someone wants to add a model or eye texture, they would need to find a way to access the folder.

I would really love to use these on a macbook, because I find this software to be really helpful when making Super Mario 64 machinima videos.

Saturn >> https://github.com/Llennpie/Saturn (download "saturn-legacy-231219-win64.zip," extract it and delete the exe inside it, download "update-linux64," then put it inside the extracted Saturn folder)

If it asks for the rom, use this: https://archive.org/download/super-mario-64-usa/Super%20Mario%2064%20%28U%29%20%5B%21%5D.z64 and rename it to "sm64.z64" or whatever it prompts to do.
