m4 Won't install on fresh MacPorts Installation on Mac OSX Leopard PPC

Reported by: smnbldwn Owned by:
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.9.1
Keywords: Install fails Cc:
Port: m4

Description

I installed MacPorts on my PowerBook G4 so that I can use a newer version on Python and also to use the MacPorts version of Ten Four Fox.

The initial install process and port selfupdate worked fine but I haven't managed to install many packages.

M4 won't install, and this is a dependency for many other pacakages.

This is the message I find in the log when it doesn't install:

version:1 :debug:main Starting logging for m4 @1.4.19_1 :debug:sysinfo Mac OS X 10.5.8 (darwin/9.8.0) arch powerpc :debug:sysinfo MacPorts 2.9.1 :debug:sysinfo Xcode 3.1.4, CLT 1.0.0.9000000000.1.1192168948 :debug:sysinfo SDK 10.5 :debug:sysinfo MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET: 10.5 :debug:main dropping privileges: euid changed to 502, egid changed to 500. :debug:main Checksum recorded in statefile '574d9319865f1ae6d61ac34da1b7fc553911d8d6981d0ac62a773059d218c85a' differs from $ :notice:main Portfile for m4 changed since last build; discarding previous state. :debug:main euid/egid changed to: 0/0 :error:main See /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_macports_release_tarballs_p$

Is there a workaround for this?
