tenfourfox-devel won't build on PowerBook G4

Description

I tried to install tenfourfox-devel on my PowerBook G4 1.67GHz 15" All dependencies build and installed but the build of tenfourfox-devel failed after about 10 minutes. Updating and trying again gives the same result.

The error in the log appears to be that "XUL" or possibly the program that is supposed to create it crashes with a bus error:

If you check /Library/Logs/CrashReporter you may find a log saying why it crashed; if so, please attach it.

Thank you for reporting. I haven’t rebuilt this since the last update (and there is nothing from upstream since then), but it could be an upstream bug. (However, tenfourfox is not actively supported anymore, so upstream may or may not consider addressing it.)

I cannot try this on Leopard at the moment. But I will look into this.

  1. S. On a side note, I hope we will get either Arctic-Fox or White-Star running on PowerPC, and then TFF won’t be of a big concern.

most likely the G4 is running out of memory to link XUL
