Problem running port on intel macbook

Description
installed darwinports 1.2 on an intel macbook then tried to install ruby, got the following error:
no suitable image found. Did find:
/opt/local/share/darwinports/Tcl/pextlib1.0/Pextlib.dylib: mach-o, but wrong architecture
while executing
"load /opt/local/share/darwinports/Tcl/pextlib1.0/Pextlib.dylib"

the current dmg is ppc only - install from source-tarball!
