Description (last modified by macsforever2000@…) (diff)
Hello, While following install instructions for Mapnik (http://trac.mapnik.org/wiki/MacInstallation), the following command caused install error(s). Not knowing quite what I'm looking at, the large debug dump is attached. I'm running Xcode 2.5 on Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger).
sudo port -d install boost +python26 icu libpng jpeg libgeotiff libxml2 freetype
Any thoughts on what I can do to resolve this? I appreciate any feedback you can provide. Please be kind and dummy friendly as I'm new to this. :D

Hello nox, Sure thing. I actually posted that very question elsewhere. How would I install/reinstall icu on Mac OS 10.4? Is there a sudo port install command for that?
Thank you much,
Chris

Cancel that. Google told me: http://icu.darwinports.com/

darwinports is not a nice website. You should run sudo port upgrade --force icu.

nox, Thanks much for your feedback. I've installed icu, and also ran the upgrade as you mentioned. I'm still getting errors, but different ones now. Progress! Any thoughts on the attached (boostInstallError2.txt)?
Thanks again,
Chris
