http://hackage.haskell.org/platform/
The Platform is the bundling of GHC 6.10.2 (until it targets other compilers as well) and a bunch of best of breed tools and libraries (http://hackage.haskell.org/platform/contents.html).
It might provide a better experience than raw GHC + cabal.
