Also, the 4.x branch seems to be maturing. Is there a plan to create a gramps4 port?

gramps updated to 3.4.7 in r116552.

Have been following the gramps 4.0 development but up to and including 4.0.2 it was unusable (obvious mispositioning of windows, menus, etc). Version 4.0.3 is now in testing and looks much better.

If you would like to try it, you can get a copy of the Portfile by svn from my wip repository at http://svn.macports.org/repository/macports/users/devans/dports/genealogy/gramps.

Note that gramps 4.0 supports both python2 and python3 but if you use python3 a different database is used (gramps will ask you on startup if you want to upgrade your database). Once you do this, your database will be unusable with gramps 3 or gramps4 python2 so be sure and make a backup of your databases as mentioned in the notes before you use gramps4 python3.

I would appreciate any testing feedback you might have on the new port.

Thanks

FYI, gramps is now updated to version 4.0.4 and a new port gramps3 has been created as a legacy gtk2 version (3.4.8). An upgrade to version 4.1.0 is now in testing and should be committed in the next week or so.
