Conflict between gdb and arm-none-eabi-gdb
Reported by: | irony42@… | Owned by: | |
---|---|---|---|
Priority: | Normal | Milestone: | |
Component: | ports | Version: | 2.2.1 |
Keywords: | Cc: | dweber@…, cooljeanius (Eric Gallager) | |
Port: | gdb arm-none-eabi-gdb |
Description
Both gdb and arm-none-eabi-gdb want /opt/local/include/gdb/jit-reader.h. It's probably the case that arm-none-eabi-gdb should not be installing this at all.

This conflict should probably be addressed at the same time as the conflicts between gdb and binutils: #43591 and arm-elf-gdb and binutils: #39917
Also, this is not quite the exact same conflict, but the issue of a gdb installation conflicting with various other cross-gdb installations has come up recently on the upstream gdb-patches mailing lists: http://sourceware.org/ml/gdb-patches/2014-07/msg00007.html
Hopefully, even if that patch doesn't end up merged by 7.8, they'll have managed to solve some other conflicts with 7.8 as well...
