Grass7 gui fails to run

Grass7 builds and installs. But, if I try to run it, using the gui, I get this error:
g.gui Launching <wxpython> GUI in the background, please wait... ERROR: wxGUI requires wxPython. No module named wxversion
It looks like perhaps the same issue that grass6 had 5 years ago: ticket:36904
I tried installing both with the default variant and with +gui, with no difference.

The problem was not actually with MacPorts. A few years back GRASS used to require that GRASS_PYTHON be set, so I had that in my .bash_profile. But, it was pointing to an old directory so it caused the failure. Just unsetting that allows it run correctly. Trac won't seem to let me close this ticket....
